Aromatic Reflexology
TIME: 10am-5pm
Open to qualified Reflexologists
A day spent exploring the aromatic delights of pure essential oils.
This unique workshop will teach you how to integrate the power of essential oils with your reflexology treatment to bring another level of healing to your clients.
Essential oils are powerful and potent and must be used with care and consideration. Many people consider pure essential oils to be completely safe - based on the misconception that they are safe because they are ‘natural’.
Nothing could be further from the truth. It is vital that you learn what can and can not be used and the importance of safe dilutions.
In this workshop, we will focus on 12 pure essential oils, their properties and safety considerations so that you are able to use them effectively with your clients to enhance your subtle yet powerful Reflexology treatments.
We will look at essential oils to relax, balance, uplift, refresh, calm, invigorate and will provide some blending recipes for you to use with Reflexology clients.
During the day we will cover:
An experiential study and introduction to 12 essential oils
How essential oils are absorbed into the body and the therapeutic effects
Plants and the extraction of essential oils; where they come from and which part of the plant is used
The importance of the quality, care and storage of our oils
Safety, patch testing and contraindications - when not to use
Principles of blending - including safe dilutions
Client care and aftercare for clients
A set of aromatic blends suitable for Reflexology treatments formulated by a qualified Aromatherapist and creating an aromatic blend in class using one of the recipes provided
Other ways that essential may be incorporated into your Reflexology practice
End of day – Health and Safety Assessment
Please note:
This is not a full Aromatherapy course and you will not learn the in-depth chemistry of essential oils. You will study a number of carefully selected essential oils for use with Reflexology and will be provided with a selection of recipes that you can use safely with clients. You will not be qualified to blend for specific conditions. Nor will you be insured to prescribe a blend for your client’s home use. This course does not qualify you to carry out Aromatherapy Massage. Due to the current National Occupational Standard (NOS) wording you cannot call yourself an Aromatherapist.
You will receive a course manual to take home with you and a Nurturing Tranquillity CPD certificate (7 points)
